Lewis C. Montana, Esq.

Lewis Montana has been a partner of Levine & Montana since 1980, focusing his civil practice on condominium/co‑op law, residential community associations, real estate (residential and commercial), business, mortgage lending, wills and estates, and probate. His more than 40 years of legal experience has earned him an “AV Preeminent 5.0” rated by Martindale‑Hubbell.

Prior to his time in private practice, Mr. Montana was an Assistant Attorney General in the Bureau of Real Estate Financing and Bureau of Securities within the New York State Department of Law. As an AAG, Mr. Montana reviewed real estate financing offering plans and performed examination of condominiums, cooperative housing and homeowners’ association offering plans. He also interpreted, administered and enforced state registration and exemption laws for inter‑state securities offerings.

Mr. Montana is a 1976 graduate from the Georgetown University Law Center. He received his bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Fordham University. At Fordham, he majored in Economics, was named to the Dean’s List and selected for Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Montana is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association (Member of Real Property Law Section Committee on Condominiums & Cooperatives), the Westchester County Bar Association (Member of Real Property Law Section Executive Committee: 2007 – 2011), and the Peekskill Bar Association (President, 1986/87).

Outside of law, Mr. Montana served on the Board of Directors, Hudson Valley Hospital Center at Peekskill/Cortlandt from 1987-1993, and is a member of the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce and the Community Associations Institute.

Mr. Montana is admitted to practice law in New York, as well as the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Matthew P. Montana, Esq.

Matthew Montana is an experienced criminal and civil litigator who has tried over twenty-five cases to verdict.

As a criminal defense attorney, he routinely represents those that have been accused of committing a violation, misdemeanor, or felony.

Matthew Montana focuses his civil practice on condominium/co-op law, real estate (residential and commercial) transactions, landlord/tenant matters, as well as wills and estates. 

In the Spring of 2022, Mr. Montana was appointed by Westchester County Executive George Latimer to serve on the Board of the Office of Assigned Counsel in Westchester County, and he continues to serve in that capacity.

Prior to joining Levine & Montana, Matthew Montana served as an Assistant District Attorney for six and a half years in the nation’s premier prosecutor’s office, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. Hired by the legendary District Attorney Robert M. Morgenthau, Mr. Montana served in the Office’s Trial Division, and handled over one thousand criminal cases from inception through disposition. Mr. Montana tried over twenty cases involving crimes such as DWI, assault, robbery, sexual abuse/forcible touching, narcotic sale, identity theft, and trademark counterfeiting.

Mr. Montana graduated cum laude from New England Law | Boston in 2008. He served as an associate, and later as a technical editor on the New England Law Review.

Prior to law school, Mr. Montana graduated cum laude from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. Mr. Montana was a Spanish major, and speaks Spanish fluently.

Matthew Montana is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Westchester County Bar Association, and the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Mr. Montana serves on the Board of the Criminal Justice Section of the Westchester County Bar Association.
